MKS PAMP conscientiously manages its energy supply and continuously seeks ways to optimize energy input. The company also uses water resources prudently by minimizing extraction from the local aqueduct while investing to reach self-sufficiency and utilizing specific treatment processes to ensure the cleanliness of discharged water. Waste recycling is another focus and in 2014 the company recycled 94% of ordinary waste. Finally, atmospheric emissions are carefully monitored to remain at a minimum and in fact well below the allowed parameters.

Since 2009 the company has published a detailed report on its environmental commitment for all of its stakeholders: Employees, the local community, customers, suppliers, institutions, Group companies, organizations and associations, as well as its competitors and the media.

MMTC-PAMP, the second refinery of the Group, is also committed to protecting the environment and to achieving sustainable growth for the surrounding community. Ensuring that development does not harm the environment and that the wealth generated by the business is shared with the community is key to that initiative.

Energy consumption is carefully monitored and optimized at the plant. As water is a key part of the industrial process, MMTC-PAMP takes pride in being a zero discharge unit, meaning that all water drawn is used, recycled and finally used for vegetation purposes upon the premises. Other resource conservation measures employed by the business include rainwater harvesting, a solar water heater, a solar power plant, a tree plantation campaign as well as a focus on waste management and emissions control.

In November 2015, in the quest to create a cleaner, greener and healthier environment, MMTC-PAMP installed an Organic Waste Converter, which transforms organic waste into odour-free flowable, homogenised raw compost in 15 minutes at our plant premises.
